1978 March-BMW 782 Formula 2 Car: 9,500 rpm BMW M12/7 4-cylinder Engine Sound!

This video is fully focused on the March-BMW 782 F2 car (chassis 782-8) that was fielded in the official Timed Shootout of the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Wonderfully driven on the hillclimb course by Ben Mitchell during the event, he manged to set the third fastest time in 45''64. The 782 was developed and built by British manufacturer March Engineering in 1978 to replace the unsuccessful 772. The 782 chassis was very competitive dominated the season winning 11 out of the 12 races with Bruno Giacomelli winning the championship. It's powered by a BMW M12/7, 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine able to produce more than 300 hp at 9,600 rpm (330hp in its latest evolution in 1984, the M12/10), linked to a Hewland 5-speed manual gearbox.
