Valentino Balboni driving the 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV – Villa d’Este 2023

During the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este I have filmed this 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV. Lamborghini had already earned a great deal of respect when the spectacular Miura was pre- sented in 1966. The design of the Miura?s chassis was deliciously short because chief designer Gian Paolo Dallara had the courage to mount the powerful V12 engine with four-litre displacement transversely behind the rear seats in order to save space. The radical racing car took its name from Don Eduardo Miura Fernandez, a breeder of legendary fighting bulls. A significant contribution to the success of the Miura was made by the wide, low-slung and supremely elegant body styled by Marcello Gandini, at the time chief designer at Bertone in Turin. This Miura P400SV originates from the last series and it came to its current custodian in 1984, having only been driven 31,500 kilometres. A little later, the car was once again liveried in its authentic, striking Green. Today, there are some 73,000 kilometres on the clock, demonstrating that this sports car is not simply enriching a collection and being showcased at events around the world, but the owner also takes it on the road regularly to enjoy the driving experience for which Lamborghini designed the Miura back in the day.
