The CRAZIEST Homemade Race Car EVER: Fiat X1/9 with Yamaha R1 Engine Active Aero!!

What you see here is something crazy but very special too. Starting from a stock Fiat X1/9 Albano Fabbri, the owner and driver of this car, has modfied it a LOT during the years trying to create a personal track weapon out from the little Italian car. But not everyone has the necessary financial resources. So I'm quite sure only the chassis remained the same of the original X1/9 but everything else has been replaced. Starting from the engine now you can find a Yamaha R1 1000cc which produces around 175 bhp. Nothing so strange until now since it's a common thing here in Italy to swap a motorbike engine into some old little Italian cars in order to race in the Proto P2 category. What is absurd here is the use of easily findable pieces for everything else, from the external look to the engine components! For example the suction pipe it's just a drain pipe you can easily buy in any DIY store, same for the fron flaps and the sides of the rear wing which are simple metal plates. What I love the most of this car is the genius behind the active aero: in fact you can find both a DRS (Drag Reduction System) system on the rear wing and some moving flaps on the front that follow the direction of the tires / steering. And believe me this car is really fast on track!! What do you think?
