Ferrari presented two new track models that will debut on the track in 2024: the 499P Modificata and the 296 Challenge. We are at the 2023 edition of the Finali Mondiali Ferrari on the Mugello circuit, and the Italian manufacturer, as per tradition, has revealed both cars to the public in a static and dynamic world preview. A pleasant surprise, this 499P Modified essentially takes up the 499P LMH racing project but makes it more usable for a limited number of lucky owners. It's an excellent tribute to celebrate the 2023 Le Mans victory. Not having any FIA-ACO constraints to respect, the total power rose to the threshold of 640 KW (870 hp). The combustion engine, a 3.0-litre Twin-turbo V6 derived from the 296 GT3 but modified by Ferrari technicians (power of 520 kW), is joined by an electric unit positioned on the front axle capable of delivering 200 kW (272 hp). A system called "Push to Pass" is introduced, which allows this "extra" power to be available for 7 seconds. Therefore, the total 640 kW can be used as the driver desires, possibly for overtaking. A system entirely similar to the KERS used in Formula 1. Other technical features include a carbon fibre monocoque chassis, push-rod type overlapping wishbone suspension, 7-speed sequential gearbox, traction control and brake-by-system. Wire. The 499P Modified will be produced in approximately 30 examples and has a price of 5 million and 100 thousand euros, excluding taxes. The second novelty for 2024 from Ferrari is the 296 Challenge, which will replace the 488 Challenge in the single-make championship of the prancing horse and will decree the farewell of the V8 engines to move on to the V6 ones. Compared to the road version, the hybrid system has been removed to the benefit of weight and costs. This allowed the technicians to work on the engine, increase the turbo pressure and obtain an additional 37 hp compared to road cars. The 3.0-litre V6 120 Twin-Turbo now delivers 700 HP at 7500 rpm and 740 Nm at 6000 rpm to move the vehicle with a total weight of 1330 kg. Interesting, on an aerodynamic level, is the presence of the S-Duct, which channels the air towards the central radiator to subsequently let it out through the vent on the bonnet. Another exciting thing is the value of 870 kg of vertical load at a speed of 250 km/h when the wing is in the position of maximum incidence. Also introduced on this model, as a world premiere, is the CCM-R Plus braking system derived from Ferrari's experience in F1. The surface of the brake discs is coated with a particular ceramic layer of silicon carbide with the dual advantage of increasing wear resistance and stabilizing performance in the most extreme conditions of use. The 7-speed dual-clutch F1 gearbox completes the technical framework. Enjoy! ? ??????? Check out these playlists you might be interested in: ?
