What a pleasant surprise this incredible Messerschmitt Me 262 was. I enjoyed seeing and filming it at the AirPower24 AirShow in Austria at Zeltweg airport. From what I have read, it is a reconstruction of the aircraft produced by Messerschmitt AG Augusta, and it is the first jet aircraft built in series. The period is that of the Second World War, and between 1943 and 1945, 1,433 examples were built, of which about 800 were delivered to the Luftwaffe. In 1993, they began building five replicas in the United States, which you see should be one of these, assembled with newly built parts. There are, therefore, no original parts. The new series's first aircraft flew in Seattle, WA, on December 20, 2002. If we look at the technical characteristics, we can see that it is powered by two turbojet engines produced by General Electric. These are the GE JI-610-9 models with a power of 13.8 KN each. This allows the aircraft that weighs 5700 kg to reach a maximum speed of 780 km/h. It has a wingspan of 12.65 meters, a length of 10.60 meters and a height of 3.80 meters. Da quello che ho letto si tratta di una ricostruzione dell'aereo prodotto dalla Messerrschmitt AG Augusta e si tratta del primo aereo a reazione costruito in serie. Il periodo e' quello della Seconda Guerra Mondiale e tra il 1943 ed il 1945 ne furono realizzati 1.433 esemplari di cui circa 800 furono consegnati alla Luftwaffe. Nel 1993, negli Stati Uniti iniziarono la costruzione di 5 repliche e quello che vedete dovrebbe essere proprio uno di questi, assemblati con parti di nuova costruzione. Se diamo uno sguardo alle caratteristiche tecniche possiamo notare che e' mosso da due motori turbojet prodotti dalla General Electric, si tratta dei modelli GE JI-610-9 della potenza di 13,8 KN ciascuno. Questo permette all'aereo che pesa 5700 Kg di raggiungere una velocita' massima di 780 Km/h. Possiede un'apertura alare di 12,65 metri, una lunghezza di 10,60 metri ed un'altezza di 3,80 metri.
