Maserati Tipo 6CM-1500 (1938) ex Luigi Villoresi – 175 Bhp 1.5-Litre inline-6 Engine Sound

In a short time, I was lucky enough to see the splendid Maserati Tipo 6CM-1500 (1938) ex-Luigi Villoresi running again. We are on the Varano de Melegari circuit for the beautiful day organized by ASI, which allowed many historic cars to complete a few laps between the curbs of the Parma track. The single-seater is part of Nicola Sculco's collection, and it is the Tipo 6CM-1500 model, chassis number 1562, built on 4 August 1938. It is a very prestigious example, brought to the race by Luigi Villoresi in the same year, winning first place at the Coppa Acerbo in Pescara. Subsequently, he took part in the 1938 Monza Grand Prix without results. In 1939, the pilot Piero Taruffi finished with this car second in the thirtieth edition of the Targa Florio, won by Luigi Villoresi in another Maserati. The 6CM model is equipped with a 1.5-litre 6-cylinder in-line engine with Roots supercharger capable of developing 175 bhp for only 650 kg. Very interesting the adoption of independent suspension with an anti-torsion bar at the front and the hydraulic braking system. Enjoy! ? Nel giro di poco tempo ho avuto la fortuna di vedere nuovamente in funzione la splendida Maserati Tipo 6CM-1500 (1938) ex Luigi Villoresi. Ci troviamo sul circuito di Varano de Melegari per la bella giornata organizzata da ASI che ha permesso a molte vetture storiche di compiere qualche giro tra i cordoli del tracciato parmense. La monoposto fa parte della collezione di Nicola Sculco e si tratta del modello Tipo 6CM-1500 numero di telaio 1562 finita di costruire il 4 Agosto del 1938. Si tratta di un'esemplare molto prestigioso, portato in gara da Luigi Villoresi proprio lo stesso anno conquistando il primo posto alla Coppa Acerbo di Pescara. Successivamente ha preso parte al Gran Premio di Monza del 1938 senza risultati mentre nel 1939 il pilota Piero Taruffi giunse con questa vettura secondo alla trentesima edizione della Targa Florio, vinta da Luigi Villoresi su un'altra Maserati. Il modello 6CM e' dotato di un motore a 6 cilindri in linea da 1.5-Litri con compressore volumetrico Roots capace di sviluppare 175 bhp per soli 650 Kg. Molto interessante per l'epoca l'adozione delle sospensioni indipendenti con barra antitorsione all'avantreno e l'impianto frenante idraulico. Buona visione! ? ???????
