Iron Lynx’s Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 EVO testing for ELMS at Imola Circuit – Camara, Andrade Naran

On Tuesday, March 31, during a collective test session for cars from the WEC and ELMS championships, the Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 EVO of Iron Lynx Motorsport also took to the track. Factory drivers Ameerh Naran, Rui Andrade, and Sergio Sette Camara took turns behind the wheel of the number 63 car, which will compete in the 2026 European Le Mans Series season. A predominantly orange livery characterises the number 63 car, and after a learning 2025 season that nevertheless yielded pole positions and podiums, the team is officially targeting the category title in 2026. The Mercedes-AMG GT3 adapted to the LMGT3 regulations (FIA/ACO) is one of the most iconic cars on the grid, known for its unmistakable sound and engine reliability. Under the hood is the 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine (M159), one of the few remaining non-turbo engines, which delivers 550 hp and approximately 650 Nm of torque. Power is electronically limited to comply with the category's Balance of Performance (BoP). Power is transmitted via the Xtrac 6-speed sequential gearbox, mounted in a transaxle (rear) position for optimal weight balance. For 2026, the aerodynamic package includes updates to improve efficiency and brake cooling. The car weighs approximately 1,285 kg (base), subject to ballast adjustments based on the results (Success Ballast), while the fuel tank holds approximately 120 litres and is adapted for ELMS rapid-refuelling systems. Nella giornata di Marted? 31 Marzo, durante una sessione di test collettivi per vetture dei campionati WEC ed ELMS, e' scesa in pista anche la Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 EVO del team Iron Lynx Motorsport. Al volante della vettura numero 63, che correra' la stagione 2026 dell'European Le Mans Series, si sono alternati i piloti ufficiali Ameerh Naran, Rui Andrade e Sergio Sette Camara. La vettura numero 63 e' caratterizzata da una colorazione arancione predominante e dopo una stagione 2025 di apprendistato che ha comunque fruttato pole position e podi, il team punta ufficialmente al titolo di categoria nel 2026. La Mercedes-AMG GT3 adattata al regolamento LMGT3 (FIA/ACO) e' una delle vetture piu' iconiche della griglia, nota per il suo sound inconfondibile e l'affidabilita' del propulsore. Sotto il cofano anteriore troviamo il motore V8 aspirato da 6,3 litri (M159), uno dei pochi motori non turbo rimasti, che eroga 550 CV e circa 650 Nm di coppia. La potenza e' limitata elettronicamente per rispettare il Balance of Performance (BoP) della categoria. A muoverlo ci pensa il cambio sequenziale Xtrac a 6 rapporti, montato in posizione transaxle (posteriore), per un bilanciamento ottimale dei pesi. Per il 2026, il pacchetto aerodinamico include aggiornamenti per migliorare l'efficienza e il raffreddamento dei freni. Il peso dell'auto e' di circa 1.285 kg (base), soggetto a variazioni di zavorra in base ai risultati (Success Ballast), mentre il serbatoio contiene circa 120 litri ed e' adattato ai sistemi di rifornimento rapido ELMS.
