I finally had the chance to film the latest Honda Civic Type R TCR (FL5) model during a couple of days of testing organized by Kateyama. Although the Civic FL5 started racing in 2023, I had not yet had the chance to see it in action. We are on the Misano circuit, and the white Type-R has been managed by JAS Motorsport, an official Honda partner since 1998. The company, located in Arluno, in Milan, Italy, will manage customer cars in Europe starting in 2025, thanks to the great experience gained over the years. Specifically, this Civic TCR is the latest evolution of the historic Hatchback model and is powered by the K20C1 FL5 engine prepared for competition. It's a 2.0-litre Turbo 4-cylinder capable of developing approximately 340 hp and 420 Nm of maximum torque (BOP limited). A 6-speed sequential SADEV ST90-17 gearbox with paddle shift and multi-disc clutch moves it. With driver and ballast, the car weighs 1265 kg and is stopped at the front by large ventilated JAS 380X35 steel discs with 6-piston callipers, while the rear two-piston callipers block 258X9 mm diameter discs. Nonostante la Civic FL5 abbia iniziato a gareggiare nel 2023 non avevo ancora avuto occasione di vederla in azione. Ci troviamo sul circuito di Misano e la bianca Type-R viene gestita da JAS Motorsport, partner ufficiale Honda dal 1998. L'azienda situata ad Arluno, in provincia di Milano, Italia, dal 2025 gestira' le vetture clienti in Europa forte della grande esperienza accomulata negli anni. Nello specifico questa Civic TCR e' l'ultima evoluzione dello storico modello di Hatchback ed e' mossa dal motore K20C1 FL5 preparato per le competizioni. Si tratta di un 4 cilindri 2.0-Litri Turbo capace di sviluppare circa 340 hp e 420 Nm di coppia massima (BOP limited). A muoverlo ci pensa un cambio 6 marce sequenziale SADEV ST90-17 con cambio al volante e frizione multidisco. Con conducente e zavorra la vettura pesa 1265 Kg ed e' fermata, all'anteriore, da grossi dischi ventilati in acciaio J.A.S. 380X35mm con pinze a 6 pistoncini mentre la posteriore pinze a due pistoncini bloccano dischi di diametro 258X9mm.
