I completely, unashamedly, LOVE the first-generation Lexus IS300. It's a clean design, with a simple-yet-durable interior, great build quality, and Lexus' reputation for reliability behind it. In the used market, we'll have a first-gen IS300 over an E36 or non-M E46 BMW any day of the week. But thanks to Toyota's Mix-n-Match supply chain, the "JDM Aristo" Turbo 2JZ Swap is fairly common among enthusiasts. Dan's IS300 is a total sleeper; completely stock on the outside, mostly stock on the inside, but under the hood is a 550 HP, single turbo 2JZ engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. This is Dan's daily driver, which he has used as a commuter car for the last 2 years. We are insanely jealous.
