Land Rover returns to Islay, the birthplace of the Land Rover Name
1 Dicembre, 2015
Islay, Scotland is an important place in the history of Land Rover as the island is where the automotive icon was given its name, more than 60 years ago. Find out more about Land Rover here: http://www.landrover.com/above-and-beyond/index.html
"Mr Land Rover,? Roger Crathorne travels back to Islay to recall the story of how Spencer Wilks, then the Managing Director of the Rover Car Company, was driving his heavily modified Rover 12 round his estate on the island, when his game keeper commented that the vehicle ?must be a Land Rover", and thus the name was born.
