This 2002 Mustang Cobra was delivered to known Mustang tuners STEEDA as a body in white and converted from new into a race car, to race in the Grand Am Sportscar Series, in which it competed from 2002 to 2004, securing a GS-Class Championship in the process. Originally fitted with the "Terminator" Supercharged 4.6L V8, it was converted in 2004 to a 5.0L "Stroker" V8 making 450 Horsepower to comply with class rules, an engine which it still runs today. Now, the car is eligible for vintage racing with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association, and its new owner, still dialing in the antiquated MOTEC engine management, invited Matt to have a go at Auto Club Speedway.
*Note* - As you will see in the video, there was a clear miscommunication between race control and corner workers, as I was sent out on the track while trucks were adjusting cones. The lack of organization was disappointing to say the least, but we still appreciate Brad and the SVRA for letting me drive the car.
