Modena Cento Ore 2024 – Mugello Circuit Races [WET] – Ford Mustang, Ferrari 250 SWB, Alfa GTA More

On its fourth and last day, the Modena Cento Ore 2024 stopped at the Mugello Circuit, where I could watch the two races of the "Competition" category. You should know that at this splendid event for vintage cars, it is possible to participate in regularity or the more spectacular race variant. It is the latter you will see in the video with an extract of Highlights. Two heats were held to allow cars with equal performance to compete. Generally speaking, we have the competition for vehicles from the 50s and 60s and the one for models from the 70s and 80s. In turn, there are further distinctions and subclasses with separate classifications. The races consisting of 8 laps in total, as usual, are very hard-fought, and there is no shortage of contacts, exits from the track, or breakdowns. Unfortunately, the rain heavily affected race 2, which ran 80% under the Safety Car due to many off-track excursions. The Jaguar E-Type (1965) of the English crew Chris Lillingston Price/Keith Morris dominated the first of the two races, while race two was won by the Porsche 911 Carrera RS (1974) of the Belgian crew Glenn Janssens/Conrad. Enjoy! ? La Modena Cento Ore 2024 nella sua quarta ed ultima giornata ha fatto tappa presso il circuito del Mugello dove ho potuto assistere alle due gare della categoria "Competition". Dovete sapere che in questa splendida manifestazioni per auto d'epoca e' possibile parteciparvi sotto forma di regolarita' oppure nella piu' spettacolare variante da gara. E' proprio quest'ultima che vedrete nel video con un'estratto di Highlights. Si sono svolte due manches per permettere alle auto di pari prestazioni di potersi confrontare. In linea di massima abbiamo la competizione per vetture anni 50-60 e quella per modelli anni 70-80. A loro volta, ci sono ulteriori distinzioni e sottoclassi con classifiche separate. Le gare composte da 8 giri in totale, come di consueto, sono molto combattute e non mancano contatti, uscite di pista e rotture. Purtroppo la pioggia ha condizionato pesantemente gara 2 che per via di tante uscite di pista si e' praticamente svolta all'80% in regime di Safety car. Nella prima delle due competizioni ha dominato la Jaguar E-Type (1965) dell'equipaggio inglese Chris Lillingston Price/Keith Morris mentre gare 2 e' stata vinta dalla Porsche 911 Carrera RS (1974) dell'equipaggio belga Glenn Janssens/Conrad Janssens.
