1976 Porsche 934 Turbo RSR

During the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este I have filmed this 1976 Porsche 934 Turbo RSR. At the beginning of the 1970s, Porsche planned a particularly powerful and lightweight competition racing car for campaigning in the class of near-series Group 4 racers. Porsche had developed the road-going Porsche Turbo on the basis of its experience with race-bred turbocharged engines. The Turbo RSR developed in the run-up to the 1976 season for racing by privateer teams was based on this first turbocharged production Porsche, the 911 Turbo. FIA regulations only permitted minor details to be optimised for racing. The Porsche Turbo RSR presented at the Concorso d?Eleganza Villa d?Este was one of an initial batch of 30 cars manufactured. The racing car was delivered to Count Girolamo Capra from Vicenza in 1976, who campaigned with the automobile in a string of races, including the World Championship for Makes. From 1981, the car was in the custodianship of the second owner for over thirty years. This was followed by stewardship with the third owner for the subsequent eight years before entering the collection of the current owner in 2020. The Turbo RSR is largely in unrestored authentic condition. Join my Notification Squad: click the Bell ?
