The Mercedes 500E is the quintessential 90's Mercedes. It's Mercedes before AMG. In order to build the world's sleepiest production sport sedan, Mercedes, with the help of Porsche, installed a DOHC, 32-Valve 5.0L V8 Engine from the 500SL into their E-Class midsize sedan. Making 325 HP and 350 lb/ft of torque, the E500 did 0-60 MPH in 5.4 seconds in 1992. Top speed was electronically limited to 160 mph. The suspension and brakes were upgraded as well from standard E-Classes, using parts bin items from the SL500, SL600, and S600. Today, thanks to excellent dynamics, timeless design, and exceptional build quality, the 500E is well regarded among collectors, drivers and enthusiasts alike. This exceptionally clean specimen features a RennTech ECU Tune, Mild Exhaust Upgrade, and 2-piece wheels from the 600SL.
