1/1 Pagani Huayra Epitome full send

At The ICE in St Moritz I filmed the One-off Pagani Huayra Epitome.
The Pagani Huayra has, theoretically, been put out to pasture, but anyone who knows Pagani knows that nothing the Italian supercar manufacturer builds is ever truly discontinued. So it should come as no surprise that there's a new one-off Huayra variant, despite its replacement, the Utopia - already being delivered to customers. Meet the Pagani Huayra Epitome.
Hailing from Pagani's Grandi Complicazioni division, the one-off was commissioned by a client who wanted the ultimate form of the Huayra as a road-legal hypercar. What took 10 months of design and consultation alone has revealed what may be our favorite Huayra variant of all, sporting unique styling elements like new front and rear bumpers, a model-specific front splitter, larger air inlets, bespoke headlight clusters, and vented wheel arches. And did we mention that it has a gorgeous fixed rear wing? That may be the best detail of the lot. It works in tandem with a reshaped rear end to guide air and provide downforce akin to the levels seen on the track-only Huayra R.
The interior, meanwhile, is rich in leather, carbon fiber, and aluminum but also features softer details, like a wooden shift knob with an exposed shifter mechanism for the manual gearbox.
At its heart, you get an AMG-built V12 engine - arguably one of the best supercar engines in production - displacing 6.0 liters and featuring twin-turbocharging. Outputs are lofty, with 851 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 811 lb-ft of torque. It redlines at 6,700 rpm and sends its power to the rear axle via a seven-speed manual gearbox from Xtrac, with an electronically controlled differential to help put the power down. Pagani doesn't publish things like 0-60 mph times, but the top speed of this one-off creation is limited to 217.5 mph.
The AMG/Pagani V12 has never had a problem singing for us all to hear, but a lightweight six-way titanium exhaust with four blue exhaust tips has been fitted. A four-exhaust button on the center console engages flaps that open up for even more noise. Beyond this, the exhaust system has two additional outlets to exploit the blown diffuser concept, with Pagani generating real downforce from the exhaust gas flow alone.
While the core elements of a Carbon-Titanium chassis and Chromoly steel front and rear subframes don't differ vastly from the Huayra R and Huayra Imola Roadster, a roadgoing hypercar has different requirements from its track-only brethren. To that end, the suspension was re-engineered to reduce dive and pitch under acceleration and braking and roll when going around corners. But despite these elements making the Huayra Epitome corner more competently, it somehow remains adept as a road car, thanks to an active suspension with a "super soft" damper mode for bumpy roads at speeds below 93 mph, above which it returns to its standard setting.
At each corner, the Huayra Epitome features alloy wheels inspired by those found on the Pagani Imola Coupe (which resides in the client's private collection, too). These measure 20 inches up front with seven spokes and 21 inches at the rear with nine spokes and are shod in Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R rubber, measuring 355/25 at the rear and 265/30 up front. Within these, Brembo Carbon Ceramic brakes have 398 mm front and 380 mm rear rotors for supreme stopping power.
