🟡 The 2026 Ferrari 499P LMH Hypercar Number 83 is ready for the NEW WEC Season! Test day at Imola

On Tuesday, March 31, all three Ferrari 499P LMH Hypercars competing in the 2026 WEC World Endurance Championship took to the track at Imola for a day of testing. In addition to the two official red Maranello cars, the yellow #83 AF Corse car, driven by official drivers Robert Kubica, Phil Hanson, and Yifei Ye, was also present. The video is dedicated to this latter car, which, as a reminder, won the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans. For the 2026 WEC season, the Ferrari 499P LMH is an evolution of the 2025 world-championship car, focusing on technical continuity and aerodynamic refinements. There are no radical changes: no "Joker" components were used in development in 2026, with the focus instead on optimising the existing aerodynamic package. The car has been re-homologated for 2026 at the Windshear wind tunnel in North Carolina (under the new FIA/ACO standard), which required mandatory aerodynamic adjustments, particularly to the floor and the small front and rear profiles (flicks). In line with the 2026 regulations, the wing mounts have been reinforced to meet the new, more stringent flex limits (maximum of 2.5 mm under a load of 100 N). Work also continued on adapting the hypercar to the new 2026 Michelin tyre compounds. Mechanically, it adopts a 3.0-litre 120 twin-turbo V6 engine ("Hot V" configuration), with the turbochargers positioned within the cylinder banks for greater compactness, with power limited by regulation to a maximum of 500 kW (680 hp), managed via the Balance of Performance (BoP) system. We also find the front electric motor: it delivers 200 kW (272 hp) and acts exclusively on the front axle, ensuring all-wheel drive (4WD). The opening race of the WEC championship will take place right here in Imola on the weekend of April 17-19. Proprio a quest'ultima auto e' dedicato il video che, ricordiamo, e' la vincitrice dell'edizione 2025 della 24H di Le Mans. Per la stagione WEC 2026, la Ferrari 499P LMH si presenta come un'evoluzione della vettura campione del mondo 2025, puntando sulla continuita' tecnica e sugli affinamenti aerodinamici. Nessun stravolgimento: non sono stati utilizzati "Joker" per lo sviluppo nel 2026, concentrandosi sull'ottimizzazione del pacchetto aerodinamico esistente. La vettura e' stata riomologata per il 2026, sottoponendosi a test nella galleria del vento Windshear in North Carolina (nuovo standard FIA/ACO), il che ha richiesto alcuni adeguamenti aerodinamici obbligatori, in particolare al fondo e ai piccoli profili (flick) anteriori e posteriori. In linea con il regolamento 2026, sono stati rinforzati i supporti dell'ala per rispettare i nuovi limiti di flessione piu' stringenti (massimo 2,5 mm con carico di 100 N). Si e' inoltre proseguito il lavoro sull'adattamento dell'hypercar alle nuove mescole Michelin 2026. Meccanicamente adotta un motore V6 biturbo da 3,0 litri a 120 (configurazione "Hot V"), con i turbocompressori posizionati all'interno delle bancate per una maggiore compattezza, con potenza limitata per regolamento a un massimo di 500 kW (680 CV), gestita tramite il sistema di Balance of Performance (BoP). Troviamo inoltre il motore elettrico anteriore: eroga 200 kW (272 CV) ed agisce esclusivamente sull'asse anteriore, garantendo la trazione integrale (4WD). La gara di apertura del campionato WEC si disputera' proprio qui ad Imola nel weekend del 17-19 Aprile.
